10.12.2009Simon Records LIMITED EDITION SINGLE - Especially for Cliff Fans
28th November Simon recorded and released a "Limited Edition" single especially for Cliff fans after performing at the Cliff Richard Fan Club event last year in Birmingham.
Simon said “I got such a terrific response when I threw in one of my own songs last year, I thought it would be a nice touch to record it especially for them this year.”
The song in question is called “Someone Else”, which to Simon’s amazement they absolutely loved, so much so, many of the fans wanted to get a hold of the song last year, but unfortunately there was no recording available at the time.
The “Limited Edition” single, released 28th November 2009, features a brand new track called “Bluebird Café”, co-written with none other than Rod Trott (Ocean Deep).
The song was written in April this year after a writing spree between Rod and Simon, where six brand new songs came out of that session. In the past, Cliff has recorded songs from both writers (as individuals) and they are optimistic and believe that they will jointly create something really special for Cliff in the future. It is likely Simon will record a brand new album next year of original material from both writers.
